We are pleased to present to you the candidates who have volunteered to run for office on the UCI Staff Assembly Council. The role of the Council is to provide leadership to the Staff Assembly and to coordinate the activities of its committees.
Staff Assembly will continue to work toward better communication with all staff and to identify important issues that affect staff. Our goal is to provide expanded opportunities for your involvement in Staff Assembly and to build an organization that has a positive infl! uence on the future of UCI in a rapidly changing workplace.
You can voice your support for the Staff Assembly and the slate of candidates who have volunteered for the 2008-09 Council service by casting your vote by the deadline of June 27, 2008.

Running for Office:
The purpose of Staff Assembly is to promote the interests of staff and to bolster communication between staff and the administration; to provide a staff perspective to the decision-making process; and to support and develop activities which serve UCI, the community and the University.
Any staff member who is a career employee and who is not exclusively represented is eligible to serve as an elected UCI Staff Assembly Chair on the Council. (Any staff member, whether represented or not, may volunteer for membership on a Staff Assembly committee.) Active members provide administrative and organizational leadership to the Staff Assembly and are equal voting members of the Council.
